L & T ER300P communication issue

I am attempting to establish communication between the L&T ER300P Indian meter and the GURUx software. The communication works seamlessly using the optical cable. However, when I switch to the RJ11 port, utilizing an RJ11-to-DB9 converter, I am unable to establish communication.

I would appreciate any guidance or assistance in resolving this issue.

Hi,

Make sure that your Interface is HDLC. You need to check what baud rate the meter uses. That can be anything, but it should be on the meter documentation.

If you don't have the documentation, you can use GXDLMSDirector HDLC address resolver to find the correct baudrate. This video might be helpful.

I believe there are no problems with configurations, addresses, or baudrates because I already have success with optical cable.

Hi,

It tells nothing from RS-232 if you can connect with an optical probe. You use a different communication channel when you are using optical or RS-232.

The optical cable and RS-232 can be configured to use different baud rates.

I have tried all baudrates with RS232 but nothing happen I am using RJ11 to DB9 cable, then RS232 to TTL converter and then USB to ttl for PC

I have purchased RJ11 to USB cable and check for baudrate using GXDLMSDirector HDLC address resolver, still no success.
It failed for every baudrates

Hi,

I made a fast check from the test devices and found Aurora and a couple of others from Larsen&Tourbo, but didn't find ER300P, so I can't test this.

I believe you should ask for the correct serial port settings from the meter vendor.
