I have few questions regarding DLMS COSEM :-
1. Is there any operation available in DLMS COSEM specification through which I can reboot/restart the meter?
2. Is there any operation available in DLMS COSEM specification through which I can reconfig the whole meter to some default setting ?
3. Is there any operation available in DLMS COSEM specification through which I can reset the clock at the meter to some global clock? I know through clock object I can set the time on the meter but since I need to provide the time few seconds will get lost due to network latency.
1. DLMS is very open standard. Standard doesn't define what functionality meter must offer. It might be that this functionality is implemented on some meter, but it's not implemented on any meter what we or our clients are reading.
2. See above.
3. There is no option that meter updates time from any internet server. I believe that reason for this is that usually meters are not on public internet network.
For the first two points, suppose the meter supports both these operations, what specific operations/method names of DLMS COSEM through which I can ask the meter to do these.
Those are not defined on DLMS standard. If those are implemented for the meter they are custom solutions. You need to ask OBIS code and interface type from the manufacturer.
In this case the meter can create a new type of interface object? I mean in case a meter reboot needs to be issued, will the meter be creating new type of interface class that is presently not described in DLMS blue book?
Thanks. We will be cheking this with manufacturers how they implement it. Basically we don't want to manually do the reboot in case some issue occurs. We want an automatic process.

Hi
So these will be needed to dealt with outside the library?

Questions regarding DLMS COSEM
Hi,
You can use the lib. You need to ask if meter supports this using DLMS. Then you need to ask used OBIS code and interface type.

Questions regarding DLMS COSEM
Hi,
I strongly recommend that you don't create a new interface for that. It'll usually cause more problems.
When do you want to invoke this reboot?
