Hello,
I am trying to connect to my Landis + Gyr ZCM 120 ABd.
So far as i can see there is only infrared communication posable and the Guruxdirector dont support infrared.
I want to make a converter from serial to infrared.
I can make the infrared part but dont know how to connect the DB9 pins.
Is it simpel and just connect the IR transmittor to TX and the RX to the receiver.
How do i connect the DB9 pins so i works with the Gurux Director softare.
The question is how many pins are used by the Guruxdirector software.
Can you tell the pinnumbers ?
I can make a infrared tranciever if the software only works with RX TX DCD
in normal serial oparation.
Setup IR transmittor / receiver
We need a 38Khz ossilator with IR led and turn it on and off with the Tx(3) output.
The reciever a TSOP 3 pin ir receiver connected to rs232 pen RX and DCD(pin 2 + 1)

Hi,
I found an interesting article some time ago about a IEC1107 optical probe, it should work also on protocol IEC 62056-21. It's simply an IR tranceiver self-powered on a RS232 (DB9) connection. No 38kHz oscillator, modulation at 9600 baud from serial TX/RX pin.
Try gooling "IEC1107 Electricity Meter Interface", it may solve your problem.

I'm testing the prototype of the optical probe above, on a Iskra MT831 meter. It works good with the Iskra software. Using GXDLMS/COSEMDirector it start communicate, but then the link go down when GXDLMS/COSEMDirector switch to another mode. I'm not a programmer, and I don't know AT command... but the probe works good, and for less than 10 euro.
Hi, and happy new year!
sorry for the delay, I wasn't at work last weeks.
First of all: I don't sell optical probes, but I have found the electronic circuit (see above) useful to connect a meter. People experienced in diy electronics can make that for little money.

I suppose also the meters for Italian market have a different firmware, according to request of local power lines authority.

Hi,
This is not simple IRDA solution, IRDA uses baseband signalling, but 62056-21 uses 38kHz modulation.
Converters are quite expensive, about 100 €, at least here in Finland.
If I remember right, there has been some instructions on the internet how to build converter, try Google. :-)

Hi, This sounds interesting.
Hi,
This sounds interesting. We are receiving lots of email where to buy
optical eyes because they are quite expensive.
Could you send log file to me, so we can see what is the problem.
Select Log File from Tools menu.
I really appreciate your help. :-)

Hi,
You can try with Low authentication.
Try with those settings:
