Just select "ZIV Aplicaciones y Tecnologia, S.A" as a manufacturer in GXDLMSDirector. You should be able to read it right away. Are you using an optical probe? Do you have USB2serial converter and then optical head with rs232 or do you have an optical probe that uses USB?
It's common that you can communicate with other meter and others not. It depends from the communication leds.
More info:
Optical port is supporting only IEC 62056-21. If you want to use PRIME you need to use PLC port.
I don't know if this is changed, but that was the case a few years ago.
Check this from the meter vendor.
We are facing the exact same issue with a Ziv 5CTM meter and an optical probe -we actually tried 2 different probes.
We have tried to connect using both an usb2serial converter as well as directly to a serial port in the PC.
Did you find a solution to this issue in the end? Please let us know anything that might be helpful.
Thanks a lot.
I have not found any solution yet. I still can not connect to a ZIV counter. I have tried different probes and different clients, but I can not get any response
Hi, Darcarper
We finally managed to connect to a ZIV counter. The trick was to use the following addresses:
-.Client: 1
-.Server: 144
Hope this is helpful and you manage to get it to work.
We managed to do so with the following configuration:
Server Address: 144
Client address: 2
Authentication Level: Low
Password: 00000001 (although the standard should be 00000007)
The client address is 2. Also, although the server address is 144 -decimal- you should enter it in hexadecimal -that is, 90.
Here is a capture of the configuration we used to connect.
Hi, I would like re-open this topic, since I started to work with ZIV5CTM smartmeter recently. I also have problems, in particular with authentication stage. Without authenticacion (none), I can read some OBIS like characteristics of the smartmeter or clock. However I cannot obtain energy data, Im using serial communication USBTTL - RS232, should I add an optical probe too? I tried also to introduce manually OBIS but non-success.

Connection Ziv 5ctm
hi
I have a usb2serial converter and then the probe. In the software I select ziv and leave the other fields by default but I do not get an answer
Connection Ziv 5ctm
Hi,
I believe that the problem is the optical probe. Power levels are too low for leds when you have USB2serial and then optical probe.
Check is there external power supply option in optical probe. If not, get an optical probe that you can join directly to the USB port.
This is a common problem.

Mikko
Connection Ziv 5ctm
Hi.
the LEDs if they flash when sending the message. With another counter (landid + gyr 550) if I could communicate without problems.

Hi Borlang,
Hi Borlang,
Please, create a new topic if you have a new question.
You need to change the authentication level from none to Low.

Mikko
